There are some things that God will not do apart from prayer. Period.
Pray, we may or is it ‘pray, period’? May we have mulligans in prayer for pace of life or service priorities? May planning and actions trump prayer? Or.. must we repent and turn back in faithfulness to “pray without ceasing” 1 Thes.5:17 pray earnestly Ja.5:17. Perhaps the answer is obvious. Did not our Lord, find His daily strength and fortitude through prayer?!…”very early in the morning …Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed.” (Mk 1:35) Within Mark’s record about crowds, healings, and exorcisms (cf. 1:32-34; 40ff; 2:1-12) the aforementioned detail about Jesus was no copyist’ insert or devotional side-note. Under divine inspiration, that daily detail becomes a defining descriptive for a devoted disciple. May it be rekindled in our resolve in these days, at this time…to pray, and to pray again without ceasing.
